In Memory of E-Ma

The Bannons had our annual visit in May to the Central Coast
to visit and remember E-Ma.
We arrived on the Friday at Ocean Beach Holiday Park - Umina. http://www.oceanbeachholidaypark.com.au/
This was the best kid-friendly place ever! Each family choose to stay in different accommodation. Our Edmiston family had the Palm Treehouse which was fun and funky. I had started to dread that it would be too cold given the weather last week. The great news is it was heated and insulated. It was set in a leafy quiet part of the park and was a great abode for the weekend- all you need. We loved it.

The pool in the park looked amazing but alas it was too cold to swim. There was a great playground complete with two jumping pillows for the kids and young at heart.
Mick and Nige had fun too!

Uncle Mick tried the jumping pillow and the slippery dip!

It was such a special time for us to be together. The usual mayhem at mealtimes with little people.

I attempted some meringue tarts. I did not have a tart mould so they are not tarty looking at the bottom. I have held a long fear about cooking involving egg whites but these meringues actually worked for me - Yeah! They tasted deliciouso.

On the Saturday we went to the Australian Reptile Park. The kids loved it but the mums all skipped the spider exhibition- euwwww!

Gisele and Archie sharing food for the kangaroos. We ran into a busload of Japanese tourists and they were fascinated with our fair haired children. Archie got a lot nods and exclamations - considered to be a very handsome fella!

Here's Tobster and Archie shrieking with excitement about the sleeping owl!

I loved these benchseats - would love some for our deck! See Nate checking out these teeth.

Next stop was to visit E-Ma at beautiful Palmdale. It is a glorious place in Autumn with the red leaves. The kids think it is a special place. I remember feeling that way about visiting grampy there all these years. Elise asks lots of questions about her grandma- quite random at times. I wonder what thoughts from where have popped into her mind/ heart and who/what are prompting them... must be spirit....

As always someone is asleep in the car. This time it was Archie and Gisele. Elise, Nate and Toby were there to represent their families. Mum must be glowing at the wonders of her gorgeous grandkids and looking out for Meggy, Nate and Nige's new baby on the way.

Here is Archie awake! Such a cute boy- got that determination and mischievious thing happening.
There is another HUGE GI-NORMOUS playground just 400m from the park opposite the Surf Life Saving Club.

Here are the beach chicks enjoying the afternoon sun. The park was right at the beach. There are programmed kids activities available at the weekend/ school holidays through the park.

It would be an awesome place to stay in summer but we have to say we enjoyed it all in May.
Nate, Nige and Elise got a tad wet anyway!
We are thinking of Nate, Meg & Nige as they have recently lost their GEDMAN- doggy of 13 years. They will now see dogs that look like Ged everywhere. Sooo sad! XXXXOOOO
Off on our North Queensland adventure starting this weekend. Bring on those 28 degree days and 20 degree nights.
