Sean, Elise, Gisele & Grandad. We celebrated Sean's 2nd fathers day on the weekend as father of 2. We had dinner at Grandad and Nana's place with Paul and Jodie. Daddy got a nintendo Wii which Elise enjoys as well. We will DEFINITELY NOT be going for father of 3 by next fathers day (LOL) Gisele is 9 weeks old this week and growing so fast. The smiles are coming in abundance now as well as the baby vocalising noises. Very cute! Elise showing Gisele her storybook. Poor girls have been sick again and Gisele has had an ear infection at her tender age. She is already getting all her sister's illnesses. We are spending a lot of time going to the Dr. Here's hoping they both heal soon and that spring will see the end of all the bugs hanging around.
Megsy is now half way through the pregnancy and has had her 20 week scan and all is well. That is all our news for now. Sending love to everyone!!!
Here are some cute photos of the growing gorgeous Gisele. At 5 weeks now she is so much more awake and curious about the world. I have been really fortunate the last few weeks to have family and friends come to visit to help us out while I recover from the c-section. Aunty Chelle came from Dubbo and stayed for the week. Elise adored playing with Chelle and doing sticker books (in fact she became obsessed). Aunty Jodie, Nicole and Elizabeth and Aunty Nicole and Nana were also wonderful to come and spend time with us. It has been so wonderful for Elise to have someone else to play with and she enjoyed jibber jabbering with you all! Here are some cute photos of Elise. Aunty Meggy also came last week and Uncle Mick came for the weekend. We all enjoyed hanging out together especially as we had soooo much to talk about with Mick & Ang's exciting news. MICK & ANG BANNON are also expecting a baby. Meg & Nig are due 28 Jan and Mick & Ang are due 8 Feb in 2009. We all believe our mum got to heaven and straight away put in her orders in for more grandchildren. We don't think it is just coincidence, considering her birthday is on 5 Feb. It works out that all 3 of our children could be in the same year at school (not the same school of course). Wonderful to have cousins the same age!! Aunty Meggy & the girls. Uncle Mick & Elise. Aunty & Uncle with Gisele. (We think Gisele bears some Bannon resemblance when you see her with Mick & Megs!!) The sisters together & Gisele having a bath (helped by Elise) This coming week the girls and I will be on our own while Sean is at work. We are bound to have moments of chaos and fun as we all get used to having 2 children around now.
We have further exciting news to share in the Bannon Family. Megan and Nigel are expecting their 1st baby end of Jan 09 Woooohooooo!! We are all so happy for them. It is a very special baby as our mum knew about the early days of this pregnancy in her final days so I am sure our mum is looking out for the soon-to-be new family.
We are settling in at home- kind of?? Sean and I are exhausted but know it won't last forever. Elise is having sleep issues now that Gisele is sleeping better at night....joys of having 2 children now!! We are continually amazed at how wonderful and how tiring parenthood can be (Nigel and Megan you need to just hear the "how wonderful it is" part!!) Here are some more photos over the last week or so. 1. All the Edmiston grandkids . 2. Otis & Elise on the trampoline 3. Bright eyed girl Gisele 4. Elise loves the camera 5. Gisele is happiest in her cradle swing 6. Elise on switchboard 7. Daddy and his girls

3. Aunty Meg & Uncle Nige with daddy and Gisele It was an exciting day yesterday (Tues) when Gisele and I came home from hospital. I had a repeat experience of high blood pressure and an excruciating headache 4 days following the birth. Thankfully knowing that history meant I was able to get on some medication quickly and have it all resolved within 24 hours so I could still come home on schedule. YEAH!!!
Elise is very excited about her little sister. Whenever the baby is around she points continously at her in awe that she exists. Elise then runs to the nearest chair to sit down so she can have a nurse - very beautiful to see (hope it lasts!!) Nova was very excited for all of ten minutes then behaves as if Gisele has always been around. Apart from when she cries and then Nova jumps to attention and races to see if everything is ok - already very protective of the newest little member of the family.
We are so relieved our little treasure is here safe and sound. We are feeling very blessed to have a healthy beautiful baby girl. Gisele is a little night owl at present and a super feeder.
Thanks for all the love and good wishes. Gisele hopes to meet you soon.
As many of you would know by now - your normal blogger is currently recovering at the SAN after delivering the beautiful Gisele Abbie Edmiston into the world at 5pm on Tuesday 9/7/8. So it is left to me to give everyone a very brief update and a few pics.
But first things first - as Kate approached the end of her pregnancy, we decided to 'get out of the everyday' with a trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park with Elise. Elise loved it. She got to see a lot of animals that she had only read about, and even pat a few. She can even say 'koala' (or something that sounds a bit like it) now. So the first couple of pics are of an excited Elise at Featherdale.
But the real news of course is the birth of our daughter Gisele Abbie Edmiston. Mum laboured for almost 24 hours before a ceasarian was necessary, and Gisele arrived at 5pm on July 9. She is a big hungry baby who seems happiest when she is feeding - but she is adorable. I love her short black hair! Such a contrast to Elise who was bald for the first 9 months.
I have not been blogging for a while. I always enjoyed blogging knowing family and friends who lived far away enjoyed seeing photos of Elise and hearing the news - especially mum/grandma who would be very excited and often left comments. So....I have decided it is time to get blogging again.
We have all had winter coughs and colds so have not been up to much except of course preparing for the arrival of the new baby Edmiston (only 3 weeks now until due date....). Elise is moving bedrooms and it is now ready. Sean just needs to hang the new door.
I had my birthday yesterday- June 18. Thanks you for all the lovely texts, phone messages, cards and presents. I feel very loved. Sean and Elise took me out for breakfast then on a shopping spree, where I got to shop on my own for a while which was bliss.
There was also some very special news arrive on my birthday...Natalie, Brett, Otis and Reuben had their new baby boy arrive - Hugo Jack Adlington. It is not very often you get to become an Aunty again on your birthday - lovely to share the day with another family member!!! Hope he likes chocolate cake too.......
I will post some photos of Eliseat 18 months old from a few weeks ago. Elise is talking more and more - very cute!! Hope to share some photos of our new arrival soon.......
