The Daintree is a magical place. Sean and I were very much looking forward to being in the midst of this 110 million year old rainforest.
On the way from Port Douglas we stopped at Mossman Gorge. Such a pretty spot- the water was a touch chilly for swimming but the scenery was gorgeous.
A photo where Gisele would participate in the process!!
A family shot...
Our Daintree accommodation was our splurge for the holiday. There wasn't a great deal of family accommodation around the Daintree but we really wanted to experience it for a few days so we found this 5 bedroom house.
A picture in the morning mist of the house.
The house was on some land that contained it's own creek and waterfall a short walk away.
We enjoyed our walks - on the right you can see Elise in the distance like Alice in Wonderland.
The views were so beautiful- most uf us just dream of having an outlook like this everyday.
How I would love to wake up to this amazing green lush landscape! There is something very restorative about all the nature and tranquility.
Chilled out waiting for our Daintree River Cruise- oh the stress of it all...SIGH!
Look there's a crocodile!
L. Elise loved pretending to be a tree or a waterfall...
R. A 600yr old tree. AMAZING!
One of our favourite things we did on our trip was visit an exotic fruit farm at Cape Tribulation for a tasting of the fruit we don't typically eat. It was really fascinating.
The girls loved it and tried all the fruit.
L. Gisele loved the dragon's eye - Longan.
R. mm chocolate pudding fruit - Black Sapote
Eating Soursop on the left of this photo was totally scrumptiously delicious - out of this world. It doesn't travel well as it is so messy and mushy so we are not likely to ever buy it in NSW. It would go soooo well in a cocktail or two!!
On our way back to the Daintree we stopped here to eat tropical fruit ice cream - mm dragonfruit flavour. Sooooo YUMMY!!
