6 months old

It's hard to believe Elise was born 6 months ago. Mum Kate and Dad Sean celebrated by going out for coffee and cake on our very own for the 1st time since Elise was born. Elise commemorated her half-year birthday by getting her 1st tooth and her 1st cold.

We now understand why parents complain (or are delighted some days) that the whole experience goes so fast...when you live from one sleep to the next, one mealtime to the next etc. It is an incredbly amazing awesome experience.

Dad Sean went to Singapore for work this week so mum Kate has a few days on her own with the bub. We are happy to report we all survived.

Sleep + Solids =Sanity?

The past week has been a big week in our household. Elise has started her taste of solids. The look on her face from the first tasting indicates that Farex is not the gourmet delight she was expecting. Wait til she starts on pureed mush-she is in for such a treat!

Mum Kate and bub also went to sleep school this week. Elise has been a catnapper for some time and both Kate and Elise were in need of longer rests! Elise has quite a scream on her and was very determined not to give in (don't know where she got that from....)and has lifted the roof on a number of occasions. We are happy to say Elise is now having long sleeps in her cot during the day and is now falling to sleep in a few minutes. I bet the neighbours are glad that sleep training is over.

Mum Kate was excited to be celebrating her 1st mothers day after waiting for so long for baby Elise! After being totally spoilt by Sean with cooked breakfast and pressies, we went to Nana and Grandad Edmistons for a lovely lunch with Aunty Nat, Uncle Brett, Otis, Reuben, Uncle Paul and Aunty Jodie. We all had a game of backyard soccer with the boys and Elise was referee. It was a wonderful day but Kate feels every day is filled with wonderful moments being Elise's mum.
