More Family News

We have further exciting news to share in the Bannon Family. Megan and Nigel are expecting their 1st baby end of Jan 09 Woooohooooo!! We are all so happy for them. It is a very special baby as our mum knew about the early days of this pregnancy in her final days so I am sure our mum is looking out for the soon-to-be new family.

We are settling in at home- kind of?? Sean and I are exhausted but know it won't last forever. Elise is having sleep issues now that Gisele is sleeping better at night....joys of having 2 children now!! We are continually amazed at how wonderful and how tiring parenthood can be (Nigel and Megan you need to just hear the "how wonderful it is" part!!)
Here are some more photos over the last week or so.

Home safe and sound

Introducing Gisele Abbie Edmiston

It was an exciting day yesterday (Tues) when Gisele and I came home from hospital. I had a repeat experience of high blood pressure and an excruciating headache 4 days following the birth. Thankfully knowing that history meant I was able to get on some medication quickly and have it all resolved within 24 hours so I could still come home on schedule. YEAH!!!

Elise is very excited about her little sister. Whenever the baby is around she points continously at her in awe that she exists. Elise then runs to the nearest chair to sit down so she can have a nurse - very beautiful to see (hope it lasts!!) Nova was very excited for all of ten minutes then behaves as if Gisele has always been around. Apart from when she cries and then Nova jumps to attention and races to see if everything is ok - already very protective of the newest little member of the family.
We are so relieved our little treasure is here safe and sound. We are feeling very blessed to have a healthy beautiful baby girl. Gisele is a little night owl at present and a super feeder.
Thanks for all the love and good wishes. Gisele hopes to meet you soon.

Lots of News

As many of you would know by now - your normal blogger is currently recovering at the SAN after delivering the beautiful Gisele Abbie Edmiston into the world at 5pm on Tuesday 9/7/8. So it is left to me to give everyone a very brief update and a few pics.

But first things first - as Kate approached the end of her pregnancy, we decided to 'get out of the everyday' with a trip to Featherdale Wildlife Park with Elise. Elise loved it. She got to see a lot of animals that she had only read about, and even pat a few. She can even say 'koala' (or something that sounds a bit like it) now. So the first couple of pics are of an excited Elise at Featherdale.

But the real news of course is the birth of our daughter Gisele Abbie Edmiston. Mum laboured for almost 24 hours before a ceasarian was necessary, and Gisele arrived at 5pm on July 9. She is a big hungry baby who seems happiest when she is feeding - but she is adorable. I love her short black hair! Such a contrast to Elise who was bald for the first 9 months.
